For Dakotah, that moment wasn’t just special. It was transformative. Bringing home a tiny, wide-eyed pup made her realize how overwhelming the first night can be for new owners, and how important it is for puppies to feel safe, supported, and understood from the very beginning.
She noticed something. People prepare for puppies the way they prepare for big life events — researching endlessly, buying supplies, asking questions — but still feel unsure when the moment actually arrives. And puppies, just like people, need comfort, structure, and reassurance to start their new life confidently.
So Dakotah turned that first-night experience into a mission.
First Night Puppy was created to guide new owners through the earliest, most important days of puppyhood — offering tools, products, and knowledge that make the transition smoother, happier, and healthier for both puppy and human.

What we won’t tell you
We won’t tell you our plush stops the crying. We won’t tell you it’s clinically proven, because it isn’t — there is no controlled study on heartbeat plush toys, and we’ve written honestly about what the evidence does and doesn’t show, including the part where we think the warmth is probably doing more work than the heartbeat.
It’s a comfort aid. It is not a medical device and it makes no health or veterinary claims. If something is wrong with your puppy, that’s a vet, not a plush toy.
